Puchero- 2024 - MIFA Annecy Short Film
Lead Background – Layout Artist – Color Script – Background Painter
Co-directed a short film as part of the Paris-Lyon-Singapore project, shown during the MIFA in Annecy 2023. The production lasted a month.
In a surreal procession, fireflies defy the natural order, swarming together to set a toad ablaze, their flickering light pulsing to the rhythm of a batucada.
The main challenge in this shot was managing parallax, especially during the preparatory painting work. I first created a sketch, then divided it into several layers. Each layer was painted separately in acrylic before being assembled in Photoshop.
Here are some final images from the short film, created in collaboration with Émile Ruer, Maud Corvaisier, Laureen Musard, and Hélène Jouffe.
Here are a few preparatory acrylic paintings for the backgrounds. They were done quickly to create a base and texture, which I later refined using Photoshop brushes. I also worked with digital collages, using textures I had first painted in acrylic and then layered in Photoshop.
